Bordered by 5 countries, the Republic of Kenya in the east, Tanzania in the south, the Democratic Republic Of congo in the west, to south west by Rwanda, to the North by South Sudan, the Republic of Uganda lies in the African Great lakes region. Though being a land-locked country, it is blessed with numerous lakes and rivers, hills, and mountains that make the country one of the best tourist destinations in East Africa.
Geographically placed 900 meters above sea level, Uganda provides good terrain for wildlife survival since abundance of water influences the supply of food.
The country is blessed with over 10 national parks such as Queen Elizabeth national park, Murchison Falls national park, Lake Mburo National park, Kidepo valley national park, and others which have a variety of wildlife species; mammals and birds. Mountain gorillas are found in the country, golden monkeys are well protected in the country to avoid extinction. Famous Ugandan kob, as well as Ugandan cranes, makes national pride as they are acknowledged as iconic wildlife.
Uganda also boasts of being one of the multicultural countries in Africa, having different tribes and cultures brings an embrace of hospitality in the country as tourism is a key factor in the country’s economic activities.
